The Collector IMDb

I worked on a variety of builds for the Canadian series The Collector, but this model of the Lithuanian village of Vilnius was the largest single project by far. Using photos of the area, plans from previously established sets and some not-so-well-realized architectural drawings of the buildings, we designed the whole complex in SolidWorks and the pieces were CNC machined out of Sintra and styrene plastics. I had no hand in the paint and finishing work, which in my opinion really made the model. In the show, the model village plays as a model, with miniature actors digitally inserted into the environment.

A couple more Collector builds. The 24:1 scale 1/4-20 nut and bolt was to be used by an actor implanted in the 1:24 scale village. Designed in SolidWorks and then CNC machined out of Renshape, acrylic and a couple large blocks of cast urethane. The robot brain was for another episode, but it looked cool, and so is included here.
