Battlebots Trip Report Pictures Page Four

I took this opportunity to take some pictures of the pit area. Great lighting this year, and lots of room. Also, the TV's to watch the matches on were a nice touch, as the competitors' grandstand sucked for watching matches.
Another shot of the pits. The heavy and superheavy robots got to set up where people could check out their work areas on their way into the arena. This however, is a picture of the light/middle pits, where people coming in didn't get to see jack. I'm not bitter though :)
Behind the black curtain is where the magic takes place! Also, where you aren't allowed to film or take pictures.
Our pit table. Probably most cluttered and disorganized at the show. That's just how I work I guess. You can see our stereo (er, rather.. a mono) of the close end of the bench, with the speaker on the floor.
Television is so funny. Here Ilya looks for the all clear to make sure it's ok for him to weld while Donna D'Errico (of Baywatch semi-fame) gets ready to impersonate Barbie for the camera.
Since no one says anything, Ilya fires up the torch so to speak, and gets some welding done. Donna recoils in horror! He's messing with the cameramen's aperature settings too/
The TV guys knowing they have a excellent photo-op, get in on Ilya's action. Donna is ignored momentarily. After I got home from SF, I found out that Donna is married to none other than Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. Our alliance of heavy metal people and trips for robot fights continues!
Pressure drop incurred some damage over the weekend. Here's a nick done by the arena saws. Almost right through, but not quite.
Pressure Drop after everything was said and done. Damage included bent armour frame, cracked and broken lexan, snapped bolts, chewed UHMW, slipped chain, out of phase legs, broken bushings, broken bushing holes, etc. Nothing super major, but quite a few little things.
More broken Lexan. I'm not really supposed to tell you how the damage came to be, but if you catch me in a good mood, and E-mail me I might let you in on some of the inside stuff. That's all for Battlebots 2K for now, and I think that's the end of Pressure Drop's campaign as a battle robot. I'll keep you all updated on it's transistion to civillian life.
