Las Vegas 2000 - Part 2 - Lightweight Robots At 170 robots (the largest Battlebots competition so far), I couldn't possible cover every robot, but here's some of the ones I did take pictures of. If your robot isn't in here, don't feel bad -- I wasn't terribly thorough. |
The good doctor returns for his revenge. This time with upgraded wheels, and hawking t-shirts!
Returning champ, Backlash. AS SEEN ON TV. Nice touch!
New robot in the Nightmare/Backlash vein, "Widowmaker". Funny thing was this was a lightweight except is was HUGE. Close in size to Nightmare, ever though it was only 1/4 the weight. Whacking bar was aluminum, and was spun by a gas engine.
Cool new walking robot, "No Tolerance III". It used tank steering with 6 legs. It could walk pretty quickly, but tended to rock fore and aft, as it didn't always have a stable 3 point platform. Nice simple walking implementation.
Jerome Miles' new robot "Sublime". Jerome's stuff (he's 15) looks better every time. He ended up winning the loser rumble.
Team Delta's LW entry, "Evil Fish Tank". You can see the attention to detail in the interior layout of the machine. This preparation and build quality is what wins matches.
Team Tatar's "N'SyncErator" LW. This robot suffered from electrical demons, but I'm sure Eric will have them worked out for the next event.
