More Pictures From Friday

17 of them in no particular order.. a big page, so wait for it to load
Jason Bardis' Lego Mindstorms fighting machine. I liked the custom Lego controller, with ergonomics in mind. Dan from Team Delta said it best back in '96, "this guy was really ready. And boy did he perform. Awesome.", it still holds true. Way to go Carlo!
Team Finagler, who had the pit behind us. They had the best pit pass photos I saw all weekend. Hey Stiven, are you in Seattle yet? Don L's heavyweight (name?). I really liked the tires, he ran them with 0 pressure. Never saw the ring though, which I think is too bad.
Not only that, they also had the coolest transmitter (check it out!) Too bad their robot, Bombus Bombus, never saw combat. Grant Imahara with Deadblow. I was really impressed by the machining work put into this robot. It looked awesome! Grant was a really nice guy too.
A detail shot of Jascha Little's Gigabot, Juggernaut. When it was working, I thought this had the best hammer type weapon at BattleBots. It even put a dent in Biohazard! Amy and Curt's robot Kill-o-amp. I loved the 13" steel wheels. Its match against Gary Cline's robot Crock was great, Kill-o-Amp did what it was supposed to.
Christian Carlberg's walker, Little Slice. I really like Christain's robots. It's too bad the saws weren't working on Little Slice, and it's also too bad I didn't to try and take out those headlights ;) The Lock Nut Monster. This was an ambitious legged Kilobot built by a couple of high school guys -- who incidentally lent me some plastic tubing -- thanks! Cool touches: the Master brand padlocks, the safe/unsafe switch, the 1 in 6 chance of it walking forward when commanded :)
Most heard comment by other Megabot builders after seeing the Scorpion: "We have to fight that??" Very cool bug type robot.. Giant too! An interior shot of Son of Smashy once everything was sorted out and bolted down.
Son of Smashy on one of our surrogate tables. Tazbot was one of the more innovative looking robots at BattleBots. Because it has been around for so long (since 96, I believe) it has undergone a process of evolution.
Lisa with her robot Tentomoushi. I thought this robot was cool before it unleashed its secret weapon... afterwards it was beyond cool! Another one of Christian Carlberg's robots, Toecrusher. The go-kart tires looked great, as did the anodized aluminum parts.
The insides of Jonathan Ridder's devastatingly powerful Ziggo, before anyone knew first hand...
