Hi! This is me writing all this stuff, so really everything else I say about the other members of my team is mearly speculation. I designed, built and financed (except for the reused parts) 99% of Son of Smashy. I've been into robot combat for a couple years now, and I was happy to be able to be a part of BattleBots. My other interests include racing Datsuns, art, and just generally building stuff. Besides going to school (4th year Systems Eng) some of my upcoming projects include a pnuematic R/C lowrider, a bolt-in Semi-Automatic transmission for 510s, a 6 legged walking robot with a realistic gait, and the elusive "Gerbil Bot"...
Ed is a 4th year chemistry student at Simon Fraser University. He is currently working at Analytical Service Laboratories Ltd. anaylizing soil and stuff. After going to BattleBots -- initially as a vacation -- Ed has decided to build his own robot for next year. Way to go Ed! Besides working and such, Ed toys with his '67 Barracuda, rides his bike and puts up with living with me.
Steve aka Stevie Wonder, paints cars for a living at a body shop in Burnaby. After BattleBots, which like Ed -- was mearly a vacation -- Steve has decided to build himself a home made Go-ped that will feature a 50cc motor and a 4 speed transmission == scary! In his free time Steve likes to auto-x his '95 SE-R, go hiking and watch the Tom Green Show and Mr. Show, while putting up with living with me.
Gillian couldn't make it to BattleBots, but she was present during the building of Son of Smashy in our kitchen (oops!). Gill is a 4th year Mathematics Honours student at SFU where she focuses on pure math. She helped a lot by moving SOS around after I sold my car and putting up with having to share her boyfriend with such a time consuming project. When she's not at school, Gill plays soccer and copes with living with me and my hobbies.
