D E N O U M E N T

The 20-odd hour drive home was not the most pleasant experience ever, but it was all good. We ended up having a better time than any of us had imagined. Before BattleBots, my rational for going was that I would have wasted all the effort I put into my last robot. I was planning on selling off parts once it was all said and done, and that would be that. After, I experienced a rejuvenation in my interest in building more robots (after a brief rest period, of course). It wasn’t just the fact that I won -- the whole event inspired me. Witnessing all the knowledge and technology put to use, up close -- meeting all the people who are part of a group who tend to think beyond the confines of the general public -- everything was a great.

I ended up having a super time -- and I will be back for sure. From what I can tell, the event was a success. Despite its few flaws, it was an important event and one which Robot Combat as a whole desperately needed. See you all in 2000!
